"Unfortunate" is the wrong word.
For the U.S. government to say that the catastrophic events at Abbey Gate were merely "unfortunate" lets them:
- Deny their role in the terrorist attack,
- Brush off their neglect & intentional lack of action, and
- Negate their betrayal of the Kabul 13 and the United States.
And they used this word on purpose, with no remorse.
Another Powerful Reminder
August 26, 2021 will forever be burned into our memory. Another powerful reminder of what happens when a superpower...one that prides itself on its unmatched military might and intelligence capabilities, blatantly disregards actionable intelligence.
How could the U.S. government and the U.S. military, armed with some of the world's most sophisticated intelligence networks, let over 180 innocent lives be lost?

In that case, we're all complicit in every tear shed, every life lost, and every ounce of grief that echoes from that ill-fated day at Kabul's Abbey Gate. It's a simple reality: In warfare lives are lost, often needlessly. Yet every single one of those lives holds stories, dreams, families, and aspirations that were brutally cut short.
